Vaccination against Covid 19
News today from NW Leics. Community Focus Team:
Measham Leisure Centre, off High Street, Measham, will host a community-based vaccination centre from this week.
Residents will be contacted by their GP practice to book vaccinations when their turn comes.
The leisure centre will be vaccinating patients from 13 practices in the North West Leicestershire PCN (Primary Care Network) - Castle Medical Group, Ibstock & Barlestone Surgeries, Measham Medical Unit, The Surgery – Ashby, Broom Leys Surgery, Hugglescote Surgery, Long Lane Surgery, Markfield Medical Centre, Castle Donnington Surgery, Manor House Surgery, Whitwick Health Centre: Dr Patel & Dr Tailor, Whitwick Health Centre: Dr Virmani (& Dr Bedi) and Whitwick Road Surgery.
People are asked not to contact their practice enquiring about the vaccine – practices will contact patients when it is their turn.
Any other inquiries regarding the vaccination centre should be directed to the NHS.
All visitors to the centre should park in the Measham Leisure Centre Car Park or Measham Library Car Park, which are both accessed from the same turn off from High Street. Disabled car parking spaces will be available.
Dr Kirk Moore, Clinical Director at North West Leicestershire PCN, said: "On behalf of all the practices in North West Leicestershire, we are delighted to start welcoming patients from all the GP practices in our PCN to begin vaccinating against coronavirus. The PCN team and all the surgeries have worked incredibly hard to get everything up and running and we thank our patients for their cooperation as we book them in for their vaccinations.
